Activision reported that the Call of Duty series would be enriched with the new one in the form of Ricochet Anti-Cheat. Ricochet Anti-Cheat is a multi-faceted approach to fighting fraud, including new tools on the side of servers monitoring data to detect fraud, improved explanatory processes to exclude cheats from the game, updates to strengthen account security and much more.
Ricochet Anti-Cheat anti-cheat protection will be introduced with the premiere of Call of Duty: Vanguard and this year along with an update that will appear in Call of Duty: brewed. In addition to improving on the server side, Ricochet Anti-Cheat will contain a new kernel driver on the PC, introduced for the first time for Call of Duty: brewed.
The kernel mode controller, means Kernel, or a Valorant style protection. Do you remember how protested against Riot Vanguard, which started with the system and worked in the background? Without this collateral, however, no play in Hero Shooter from Riot Games and everything indicates that this will look like in Call of Duty. Ricochet Anti-Cheat acts on similar terms.
Players do not protest against this solution due to cheaters who in Call of Duty: I do not lack brewed. Who knows, maybe it will change soon and it will be like from Valorant. However, at this point most votes is behind Ricochet - provided that this solution actually solves the problem. Activision explains even why he put on Kernel.
The cheating software has become more sophisticated, enabling crooks bypassing traditional security methods. The kernel mode controller allows you to monitor applications that can try to manipulate the call of duty code: barzone during its operation.
Applications in user mode have access and monitoring restrictions, which makes it more likely that unauthorized software will be able to manipulate the game code or bypass security.
The company ensures that the kernel mode controller will only work when playing call of duty: barzone on PC and turns off after closing the game. Detailed information can be found here.
