Take a look at Terra Invicta, an ambitious big strategy game located in space

The ModS XCOM modding team that has received obscene praise has just published a trailer for its first game in stand-alone mode. Baptized Terra Invicta, the game takes place in a world where the earth is threatened by an extraterrestrial fleet and it is up to you to stop them.

Although this premise may seem generic, it could not be more distant from the truth. The extraterrestrial invasion plot was done to death, however, Terra Invicta adds many unique and complex layers to this game. The extraterrestrials are of course the main enemy of the game, but you will also have to face other human factions in same time. There is a long list of factions to which the player will have to be attentive. Everyone will have its own goals and objectives. You will lead the resistance, the group opposite the extraterrestrial invasion.

This game will not happen only on earth either. The developers of Terra Invicta have had the good idea to allow the player to send missions in space in order to harvest the material you will need to overcome the extra-terrestrial wicked. The current explorable universe is also huge, so there will be many places to go.

Once these resources are received, you will use them to build spatial stations and other technologies. However, the most important thing you will build is battleships. This is what you will need to overcome extraterrestrials. This has not been confirmed, but it seems that extraterrestrials are supposed to be a last boss.

There is no release date for now. But a Kickstarter fund is on the way according to the development team.
